Why Synthetic Corks?

For the past five years, we have offered these amazing corks in all of our 5, 6 and 8 week wine kits with great results.

They are of course more expensive, however, the results are so good that effective June 1st we are now using this cork exclusively in all wines made at Somerset. Here are just a few of the benefits of the synthetic corks:

• Absolutely no spoilage or "cork taint".
• Not affected by humidity. Leave standing or lay down.
• No broken corks and no cork crumbs.
• They fit all bottle neck sizes hence no need for measuring (Yay!)
• They're great for aging as the cellular construction actually breathes like natural cork.
