When Sandi and I first envisioned our own make on premise winery back in 1997, we had no idea just how intriguing, involving and ultimately exciting this project would turn out to be.

Having been a home wine making hobbyist for some years I became convinced that this industry just might be what we were looking for as we searched for ideas to establish our own business. My business background in retail and marketing was nicely complimented by Sandi’s design and administrative experience. We both loved good wine and frankly were surprised how, under the right conditions, really fine wines could actually be made by a hobbyist or at a good on premise winery.

With that background and passion we spent the next three years doing market research to either confirm or debunk the idea that together, we could bring a whole new experience and environment to the on premise industry. Our goal was to open an upscale make on premise winery using only the best of class products, supported by purified water, extreme sanitary conditions and full vinting procedures. All this would be presented in a pleasant gift shop/winery environment, supported by great service, a knowledgeable team and a passion for wine.

No doubt, a big promise to deliver on and something we found all too rare. So, here we are starting our eighth year since opening our first store in Hyde Park in June 2000. We have been blessed by our many loyal customers, some of whom have given testimonials you can find throughout our site. They continue to refer us to their family and friends for their winemaking needs. Delivering on “our promise” continues to be our number one goal as we now have two locations, both with terrific teams that support us on this quest.
